Last updated 17 October 2026. This policy explains what happens with data in Peel: Tape Puzzle for iPhone, made by JoLo Productions (David Korijn, the Netherlands). JoLo Productions is responsible for this data.
Your levels, stars, coins, tapes, stickers, settings and stats are saved in a file on your iPhone. If you print a name on your tape, that name is stored only on your phone and is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it from your phone; if iCloud is on, the copy in your own iCloud stays (see below).
If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, Peel sends your star total, best Endless level, Daily streak and badges to Apple's Game Center, so you can see leaderboards and achievements. If iCloud is on, a copy of your game progress is kept in your own iCloud, so it comes back on a new phone. Both are Apple services under your own Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy; we never see your Apple Account, name or email. You can turn either off in your iPhone Settings.
When you play, the game sends short gameplay events to our server, for example a level started or cleared, a booster used, the shop opened or a purchase made. Each event carries:
We use this only to see where the game is too hard, what players enjoy and whether the game keeps working, for example how many players come back the next day. We never sell it and never use it for ads. Our server, like any server, receives your internet address when the data arrives; we do not store it with the events and do not use it to identify you.
The events are stored with Supabase, our database provider, which processes them on our behalf. We keep them for at most 13 months and then delete them.
Peel is free to play. You can buy coin packs, a Starter pack and a Supporter pack. Every tape and theme can also be earned with coins from playing. Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store: Apple processes the payment and we never receive your card, bank or Apple ID details. We receive a confirmation of which product was bought so the game can deliver it and restore it on a new phone. A small sum ("Ask a grown-up") appears before every purchase with real money.
In the Tape Shop players can send us an idea for a new theme, after a grown-up check. We receive only the theme name and the description that was typed, together with the random install code described above. We ask players not to write names or other personal details. We read the ideas to choose new themes and delete them after 13 months.
If you use the form on our Support page, we receive what you type: the topic, your message, and if you fill them in, your iPhone model, game version and email address. The email is optional and only used to answer that message. Messages are stored with Supabase and deleted at the latest 12 months after we have handled them.
When you tap Share, the game hands a short text with your result to the iPhone share sheet. You choose where it goes. We do not see it.
Peel is made for all ages. We do not ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children. The game statistics described above are anonymous. Real-money purchases always sit behind the grown-up check, and the game has no links to outside websites.
Under the GDPR you can ask us what data we hold, ask us to delete it, or object to its use. Because the statistics are anonymous we cannot normally link them to you. If you want your data removed, send us a message through the Support page and we will help: deleting the app also creates a new random code next time, so old events can no longer be connected to you. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
If we change what the game collects, we update this page before that version is released and change the date at the top.
Questions about privacy or a request about your data: use the form on our Support page and choose "Something else".
